And if it does affect the economy, we’ll find a way to extract a profit from it….
Driven mostly by rising global temperatures from the continued burning of fossil fuels, extreme weather events such as typhoons, hurricanes, floods, heatwaves and drought are becoming more frequent, increasing 83% worldwide in the past 20 years (as of 2020), and the costs have increased by 800% over that same period. In 2023, the world has witnessed the highest ocean surface temperature, lowest Antarctic sea ice extent ever recorded, and hottest summer. Physicist Time Garrett likens these extreme weather events to a roving beast that makes no place safe and will eventually bring down civilization:
I feel like we expected climate change to be this gradual thing we’d be challenged to adjust to. Instead, it’s more like a roving beast. We never know when it will strike, where, or even how, just that eventually it will come for us too…At some point this roving beast will pounce often enough that civilization will lose its capacity to repair climate damages even as they accelerate. By being squeezed at both ends, a point will arrive at which civilization tips towards collapse. ~ Prof Tim Garrett
And so it is that modern civilization appears on the surface to be very robust at sustaining itself, but not when the shocks are coming at us more frequently and with growing intensity. To quote Luke Kemp, aka ‘Dr. Doom’, a research affiliate at the Center for the Study of Existential Risk at the University of Cambridge and a visiting faculty fellow at the Notre Dame Institute for Advanced Studies:
…that is potentially my biggest fear going forward: I think our homogenized, interconnected world is very good at buffering against small shocks. But it’s much more likely to amplify a sufficiently large shock into a system-wide crisis.
Experts call it ‘flickering’ when a complex system starts to briefly sample a new regime before tipping into it. Multiple extremes of varying kinds happening at the same time are clear warnings of climate tipping points. Tim Lenton, University of Exeter climate researcher, believes the extraordinary events we are seeing today could be an early warning of tipping towards a new and more inhospitable climate system.
What happens in the oceans does not stay in the oceans. This year, the oceans have hit their hottest ever recorded temperature. Warming oceans are having many harmful effects such as decimating fisheries, altering marine life migration patterns, robbing phytoplankton and zooplankton as well as the rest of the oceanic ecosystem of a key food supply by preventing nutrient-rich deep ocean water upwelling from occurring, and increasing the frequency and intensity of harmful algal blooms. Warming oceans also play a crucial role in shaping land weather patterns. Increased sea surface temperatures can lead to more frequent and intense heatwaves by altering atmospheric circulation patterns in ways that enhance drought conditions. Warming oceans provide more moisture to evaporate into the atmosphere and fuel more powerful atmospheric rivers. Libya just experienced the deadliest flood of the 21st Century, with 7,000 confirmed dead and up to 20,000 more feared dead in the eastern city of Derna. 25% of the city is estimated to be destroyed after two dams collapsed due to extreme rainfall.
What happens in the Antarctic does not stay in the Antarctic. A record low minimum extent of Antarctic sea ice this summer has left an area of open ocean bigger than Greenland. If this “missing” sea ice were a country, it would be the tenth largest in the world. The recent discovery that emperor penguin colonies experienced unprecedented breeding failure in Antarctica due to total sea ice loss in 2022 supports predictions that over 90% of emperor penguin colonies will be quasi-extinct by the end of the century. Emperor penguins have largely been sheltered from the ravages of man, except for human-induced climate change. This does not bode well for Homo sapiens since the cryosphere plays a vital role in the climate system. The polar regions are known as Earth’s refrigerator and they regulate climate, weather patterns, and maritime food supplies.
The planet’s cooling system is broken. The June–August 2023 global surface temperature was 2.07°F (1.15°C) above the 20th-century average of 60.1°F (15.6°C). This ranks as the warmest June–August period since records began 174 years ago. The hot, dry and windy conditions that fuelled the historic wildfires in Quebec Canada were made at least twice as likely due to human-induced climate change. As of this week, the Canadian wildfires have spewed 410 million metric tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, roughly the equivalent of Mexico’s 2021 emissions. The IPCC models assumed that those forests would continue to be a carbon sink.
For the first time ever, scientists have quantified all nine planetary boundaries which make Earth habitable and six of them have already been transgressed while two of the remaining three are close to being breeched. Most worrisome for the scientists is that all four boundaries that cover the biological world are at or near critical levels. Without them, we are much less resilient. Lest we forget, humanity’s conundrum is an overshoot of nearly every safe environmental boundary that allowed humans to survive and thrive in the last 10,000 years:
Prof Johan Rockström, the then director of the Stockholm Resilience Centre who led the team that developed the boundaries framework, said: “Science and the world at large are really concerned over all the extreme climate events hitting societies across the planet. But what worries us, even more, is the rising signs of dwindling planetary resilience.”
A study from about year ago (and shortly after my last blog post) states that we may have already activated 5 catastrophic climate tipping points at our current 1.1°C of warming since the Industrial Revolution and that we are likely on the brink of setting off many more once reaching 1.5°C. A cascade of tipping points awaits us:
“This sets Earth on course to cross multiple dangerous tipping points that will be disastrous for people across the world. To maintain liveable conditions on Earth and enable stable societies, we must do everything possible to prevent crossing tipping points”…Prof Johan Rockström, the director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, who was part of the study team, said: “The world is heading towards 2-3°C of global warming.”
The absurdity of our response, or lack thereof, is becoming ever more apparent as conditions continue to deteriorate around us. When a whole industry springs forth to do the clean-up work for disasters while simultaneously investing in Fossil Fuel extraction, the profit-driven pyramid scheme that is modern civilization cannot be more clearly demonstrated. As these extreme weather events ramp up, access to quality water fit for use by humans and ecosystems is expected to decline. The world’s crumbling water infrastructure will only exacerbate these effects. The insurance industry, perhaps the only business venture whose profit depends on a clear-eyed view of the science behind human-induced climate change, is now dropping coverage for the coastlines, floodplains, and wildfire areas as the US breaks the record this year for billion dollar disasters. There are still nearly four months left to go as supercharged hurricanes continue to form in our overheated oceans. With this year’s marked uptick of such extreme weather events, the realization that we are fucked is becoming more obvious to the common layman. A recent blog post from another self-professed ‘doomer’ summarizes the societal angst currently building in our collective consciousness, whispering to us that all is far from right in the world:
This world always had to end. It was never going to last more than a generation. It couldn’t. All the facts made that very clear from the start. The rich and the corrupt simply chose to ignore that. They lied.
That’s not the worst part.
It’s not the collapse.
It’s not the death of our hopes and dreams. It’s the fact that we’re not allowed to grieve it and move on. Imagine trying to grieve the loss of a friend or a parent when half of everyone you know won’t even admit they’re dead. Imagine you’re stuck in a real-life version of Weekend at Bernie’s.
That’s what we’re doing.
It’s the norms that force us to engage in acts of cultural necrophilia. It’s having to pretend for our bosses, our coworkers, our friends, and our relatives. It’s watching everyone we know screw a corpse.
However, as someone in the comment section makes clear, her blog post, while well written, is still very Homo sapien-centric. For most of the nonhuman natural world, their existence ended some time ago:
Great essay but as usual these days it is highly homo sapien centric.
We have already lost more than half, two thirds even, of all life on the planet. World wildlife populations have declined by over 70% since 1970. Wildlife populations in Latin America and the Caribbean plummeting at a staggering rate of 94%.
Freshwater species populations have suffered an 83% fall.
80% of fresh water species decline.
80% of total insect population mass has gone in just the last 30 years.
Soil and the human gut have a direct relationship, as soil microbiome diversity decreases so does the diversity in the human gut microbiome, and with it comes drastic events, such as depletion of sustainable production of food and rise of disease in humans. – Link
All of which is happening now and increasing exponentially.
Indeed, if modern civilization has no regard for the natural world around them and creates a throwaway society in which we are now awash in our own carcinogenic waste, i.e. microplastics, industrial chemicals, pesticides, etc, and gives no consideration to the lives of future generations, one cannot be blamed for having little hope that humanity can steer this wayward ship away from its omnicidal course. Noam Chomsky is no more optimistic when he states: “Now, we are at the point when the major institutions of organized society are intent on destroying organized human life on Earth and the millions of other species.” Surely no one in charge can truly believe with a straight face that humans can maintain their overpopulated numbers even to mid century, let alone sustain any sort of organized society by century’s end. At least one scientist is on the right track in voicing the inevitability of a major human population correction. We’ll leave behind a rather toxic but interesting fossil layer in the geologic strata for the Anthropocene epoch of Fire and Flood.

I know this is too complex for the Clever Ape but here goes.

There is something wrong with the assumption that not buying something will cause the price to go down. Because the prices will keep on going up, even if the demand goes down. Because as current demand goes down, the future production will also go down. Which will further drive up prices, because producers/retailers need higher prices to justify making a steady stream of revenues/profits. Producers/retailers need higher prices to maintain/grow profits as production/demand goes down.

I realized that even if the Industrial Revolution didn’t ever happen, our global human population would still eventually skyrocket to the astronomical levels of today. And the same ecological overshoot, collapse and human extinction would have happened. Once agriculture was invented, it was only inevitable that global human population would have skyrocketed. So fossil fuels have contributed relatively little to the grand scheme of ecological overshoot and collapse. Of course, humanity’s exploitation of fossil fuels was/is inevitable. But I don’t think fossil fuels will make too much of a difference in the grand scheme of things. Because once there is 8,000,000,000+ people on this planet, human society would still eventually collapse, whether or not fossil fuels contributed to such enormous population growth.
Of course, in reality, fossil fuels greatly contributed to the enormous human population growth during the past 200 to 300 years. And of course, the entire edifice of industrial civilization is supported by fossil fuels.

When you realize the elephant in the room of global climate change, then it becomes very obvious that catastrophic global famine (in the relatively near term) is inevitable. This climate change is not just caused by fossil fuel burning, but from a myriad of other industrial activities (like agriculture, mining, city-building and the rest of mankind’s omnicidal alternation of the biosphere of the Earth). Combined with overpopulation, resource depletion, grotesque socio-economic inequality, shortages of fresh water, rapid wild life extinctions, etc, and it is becoming increasingly obvious that human extinction before the end of this century is almost completely unavoidable.
I believe that this global famine has already begun. And the skyrocketing food prices is its most obvious symptom. It probably wouldn’t be long before the entire global agricultural system completely and permanently collapses…resulting in NTHE.

One exhibit is about a 1631 incident in which the first woman accused of witchcraft in Coesfeld of many to come was beheaded and burned. A partially burned wooden chair in next to the tower to the left of WW 2 unexploded ordanance is evidence left over from a crime that took place in March of 2021, not of which burning.
The 100s of years of human stupdity and treachory is all wraped up in a bow or is it a bow in the few square meters of this exhibit that anyone can see just by walking through an open gate.
So many people are so shallow. They do not understand the great amount of work that went in to giving Americans a choice between Trump or Biden. Now many people who claim wisdom are saying that Trumps opponents have weaponized the legal system to prevent Trump from being reelected by the people of the United States. Well first of all the US legal system was weaponized at least as far back as 1968. But more importantly Trump and his associates are a crime syndicate. The only thing that Trump can say about that is not something in his defence. It is something that he can say to attack someone else. That is the enfire UKS governmental system is an interlocking mass of criminal sydicates.

I will explain to you guys the secret behind the so-called “efficiency” of “free market” capitalism. As a general rule of thumb, the prices of goods/foods consumers pay to retailers (i.e. Amazon, Walmart, and Costco) is about 5 to 10 times more than what it cost manufacturers to produce the said goods/foods.
So a 200 dollar smartphone being sold at a retailer (like Walmart), cost the manufacturer (i.e. Samsung or Apple) a mere 20 dollars (or some similarly low cost) to produce. The 200 dollars being sold at Walmart…part of that price/revenue is given to the manufacturer (and other people/companies in the supply chains)…and the rest of the money/revenues goes to Walmart…and some of the money also goes to the rent-seekers that charge Walmart rent for conducting business on the land.
Remember, the price must always exceed the costs of running a business. To generate a profit. So a 200 dollar smartphone from Walmart is being sold at a higher price than the costs paid to the rent-seekers, the wages of workers at Walmart, the wages of the workers/companies managing the supply chains, the wages of workers manufacturing the smartphone, the wages of workers supplying the individual components and raw materials, etc. The final price sold at Walmart is higher than the combined value of the wages of all the workers (at any point of the supply chain from the raw materials all the way up to those working at the retail outlet).
This is exactly why we ALWAYS have GROSSLY overpriced products. And VASTLY underpaid workers/high umemployment. To keep the costs of multiple layers of workers (working within the global supply chains) lower than the price of products sold at the end of the global supply chains. To generate a profit for the top 1%ers.
That is how “efficiently” the “free market” capitalism works. To transfer wealth from the bottom 99% to the top 1%. Of course, this is grotesquely inefficient from an environmental and social perspective, but the only thing that really matters is the bottom line/profits for the rich, elites, am I right?

The bad news is that air pollution/ greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) continue to rise, despite global oil extraction now starting to permanently decline. Why? It is because Industrial Civilization is using the depleting energy from oil to increase the extraction and consumption of coal. This means that less and less energy is available to “benefit” society i.e. provide health care, food and infrastructure building. Because what little remaining energy will be used simply to extract energy…and less and less of it can be used to “benefit” society. This energy from coal is simply being used to produce more and more worthless junk…like smartphones, flatscreen televisions, computers, plastic toys and other consumer garbage that people don’t really need…produced in Third World countries, like China and India. To be consumed in “developed” countries (like Canada and the USA). All the while, the things that people really need (like food and water) is rapidly declining in availability/increasing in price. Really, this species is stupid beyond comprehension. And near term extinction is what humans ultimately need.

I realized that television and mass media is the most effective form of propaganda ever invented. I rarely watch television. But when I watch it (ocassionally) even someone as wise as me, can temporarily fall for its lies and propaganda. The vast majority of television shows present a feel-good view of the world that barely even resembles the grim and unpleasent reality of the real world. What kind of television show would be attractive to viewers if it told people the truth about the fundamental unsustainability and irredemable corruption of our industrial civilization? Instead, we are presented with television shows that bombard viewers with false messages…that our civilization is “sustainable” and “fair” /”just”.
One of the main reasons that I rarely watch television is that it is just too cringy to watch…because I don’t want to be constantly bombarded by its lies, pretending that our civilization is “sustainable” and “fair”. I want to face the grim and unpleasent reality of this world. Rather than pretend that it doesn’t exist. Unfortunately, the masses would rather believe in the feel-good lies of television rather than face the grim and unpleasent reality of industrial civilization.
Do you guys share the same experience as me?

I am in General Agreement with your comments. I stopped watching action movies or shows when I was around 35 because of the way that they went over the top flakey. I never really liked Sci Fi either. Nor did I much care for most comedy because most comedy is just flat out juvinile.
I have really come to detest gratuitous violence in flims. I like stories that depend on psycological tension to make the story interesting. I also like stories that have great debates.
I did watch a film last night. It was reasonably good. It was called A Haunting in Venice. Venice is a smugglers paradise. Can you imagine how cool it would have been if Venice had been a part of the United States druing Prohabition?

I can not speak for TR. But for me Kind of. All my life I have been really annoyed by the pattern of Hollywood creating what appears to be a realistic but unhappy ending of a story only to continue the story for 10 or 15 minutes more to be able to give it a happy ending.
I stopped watching action movies when I was around 35 because they just went way over the top to fakey. I was never munch in to comedy because I found it so lame so much of the time. I never cared much for Sci fi either. Most movies about war (or the military) are a sub genre of action films. But not all of them. Some of them are deeply psycological.
But then again I supose that ones that are psycological would be more properly labeled anti war films.
I do love films in which the stories take place between 1850 and 1910.
But the thing that I look for most in a film is great debates between characters in the film.
I did watch a film tonight because I am also getting very bored by what I can find on the internet to keep my mind occupied when I have spare time, which I have a lot of because I am retired.
The film was called a Haunting in Venice. It takes place shortly after teh end of WW2. Inspector Poirot has retired from his PI work. There was a scene near the beginning of the film that was quite similar to one I expirienced. One thing did really annoy me about the film, At one point the in the story the people in the house go in to the basement of the house. But I do not think that a house built in Venice would have basement. as the houses are built on stilts anchored in the silt of the Lagoon.
Venice is a snugglers and a smugglers paradise. Can you imagine if what kind of 1920s gangster movies could have been made in Venice if Venice was apart from the United States during the Proahbition period? And you walk out to that point of land next to the palace, I think the Bishops old palace you get a wonderview of everything that would be in site.
I hope that my answer did not gore you to death.

I just noticed that automation/ industrialization/mechanization = fossil fuels. There is no way to have industrialization without fossil fuels. How do I know this? Look at all the machines used to construct buildings, deliver supplies, extract resources, etc. Like bulldozers, trucks, cargo ships, airplanes, chainsaws and lawn mowers. They all directly burn fossil fuels. They don’t run on electricity (and even if they used electricity, the electricity still, most likely, also came from fossil fuels). Electricity is too inefficient to power big, heavy duty mobile machines. These machines which are absolutely essential for industrialization.
Electricity is only good for powering stationery machines–like computers and Internet servers…these machines which get energy from getting plugged into the electricity grid. Of course, electricity is NOT an energy source. Electricity is ALWAYS directly or indirectly dependent on fossil fuel energy sources BTW.
There is NO SOLUTION to the peak oil/resource depletion problem. Which is why it is always ignored or denied. There is NO SOLUTION to the overpopulation/ population growth problem either, which is why it is always ignored or denied. Instead, we pretend that fossil fuels will never run out. And we pretend that human population will eventually “decline” due to “low birth rates”.
Which are both false assumptions. Because fossil fuels are rapidly running out. And global human population will continue to exponentially and uncontrollably grow, until industrial civilization permanently ends and near term human extinction arrives.

I noticed that the decline and disintergration of industrial society already started many years ago. Even back in the late 2000s and early 2010s, the decline of industrial society was very obvious. Now, in the late 2010s and 2020s, the decline is so profoundly obvious that it is almost embarassing to even point it out.
Yes, literally the only technological “improvements” during the past 10 to 15 years was that smartphones and tablet PCs were made slightly faster. But for the most part, technology is also declining in quality…for example, laptops and desktop computers are made increasingly fragile and undurable…meaning they break down even more quickly and more easily than before. The same applies to automobiles and probably other consumer products, too. They are becoming increasingly lousy. And they break down even more quickly and more easily than before.

The idea of AI (Artifical Intelligence) technology coming to save the day is completely ridiculous. Primarily because there is literally nothing that can replace fossil fuels. And we are already on the downwards slope of global oil extraction. So AI solves absolutely nothing. The global economy will catastrophically and abruptly collapse (relatively soon) . And there will definitely be no “recovery” whatsoever because the fossil fuel energy source (used to power all industrial activities) is rapidly running out. Once the global economy permanently collapses, we (humans) will (most likely) quickly become completely extinct. It is that simple.

Clearcutting old growth forests, and thinking that replanting some trees will save humanity, is 100% delusional. Of course, this ignores the biodiversity that such clearcutting has already destroyed via civilization and agriculture. Humans will eventually get retribution for rapaciously plundering the natural world i.e. we will certainly and eventually get near term human extinction. There is nothing or nobody coming to save humanity from extinction.
Homo Sapiens is an irredemably corrupt and fundamentally unsustainable species. Telling that humans will soon become extinct is simply too merciful for this shitty, fucking species. Telling that this shitty species deserves the most horrible and miserable death possible, when near term human extinction happens, and no amount of money in your bank account will save your shitty, miserable life, when collapse of industrial civilization happens, is much more appropriate.
Simply put, I hope humanity suffers the most miserable and horrible death and extinction possible, when there is no more food at the supermarkets, no more gas at the gas stations, no more electricity, no more water coming out of the taps, when the global supply chains completely and permanently stops dead in its tracks. This species 100% deserves it.

I know that overpopulation is a very serious problem. However, as many people on this site (and other sites have mentioned), it is merely a symptom of a much deeper, root problem. What is that root problem? Simply put, it is capitalism. The capitalist system simply cannot be reformed to be “sustainable” in any way whatsoever. Are there too many people on this planet? Yes.
But that is merely a symptom of the much deeper, root problem of capitalism. I know that capitalism will be the root cause of mankind’s near term extinction. As well as every other problem that humanity faces. Of course, I don’t expect that capitalism will ever be replaced…because capitalism holds too tight of a grip on humanity.
It is painfully obvious (to me) that the root problem is our socio-economic system of capitalism. Overpopulation is merely a symptom of that system. After much research, I have come to the conclusion that capitalism (not overpopulation) is the ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM.
And capitalism = usury. There is no other way to describe it. The capitalist system is heinously evil. There is no way to “win” at it, unless you are a complete psychopath/ sociopath. The capitalist system crushes and destroys any honesty and decency.
Simply put, capitalism = usury= wageslavery/debt slavery/poverty/war/ ecological destruction, etc= near term human extinction

The second to the last card of the losing side is where the next mass shooting in the US will take place. The last card is where a bridge will collapse with in 15 days after you play the game.
The charge for playing the game is 11.09 dollars or 9.11 Euros.

You can also take a .22 califate air rifle and shoot at a target 5 times. Use the score and apply that to the state that was admitted in to the union in that position. For example a score of 45 would be the 45 state admitted to the union. That is the state where something will happed that makes headlines across the country because something bad happened there.
It will not yet be a collapse of supply chains.

Except when the global supply chains do collapse (which is inevitable), near term human extinction is (almost) certainly guranateed. Ask yourself this simple question…how many people in the world consume/use any products/foods that are produced using resources within their immediate surroundings? The answer is virtually nobody. It is very possible that it is literally nobody at this point. Even people in backwards, Third World countries (like Congo and Sudan) are 100% dependent on using supplies/resources imported from far, far away (like from half way across the entire world). To import these supplies requires energy from fossil fuels.
Our entire, industrialized civilization is dependent on importing (and exporting) supplies/resources from far away places. There isn’t a single product in industrialized society that is mass-produced using “local” resources and/or without fossil fuel inputs. This obviously cannot last. And when the entire, globalized industrial system inevitably collapses, we (most likely) get NTHE.

I once heard a famous person mention the following statement: “”it is a good thing that the masses don’t understand how our (economic) system works, because if they did, then the whole system would be toppled overnight”. And then, I suddenly realized how the elites maintain their power. By simply misinforming the masses aka dumbing-down the masses. Using constant lies and propaganda. The vast majority of people are so thoroughly brainwashed that they don’t even know that they are completely brainwashed. Surprisingly, most people think that they are “well-informed”, even though virtually everything they believe in is a big fat lie. And don’t even try to enlighten the masses with the truth, because they will deny it. Or they will attack you for it.

I find it hard to believe that most people consider human civilization and capitalism a “good thing”. It is not. Capitalism and human civilization has already completely wrecked the ecosystems of this planet. And it will certainly cause the extinction of mankind relatively soon. People must be totally fucking retarded to think that industrial capitalism is a “good thing”.
Please tell me how shitty, over-priced, low-quality, mass-produced products is a “good thing”. Please tell me how usurious, compound interest-based debt slavery is a “good thing”. Please tell me how an exponentially-expanding population of idiotic human beings is a “good thing”. Please tell me how mind-numbing corporate media and dumbed-down mass-entertainment is a “good thing”. Please tell me how GMO-tainted Frankenfoods at the supermarkets is a “good thing”.
Just watching half an hour (or more) of that so-called “entertainment” on television and social media (everyday) is enough for me to completely hate our civilization. I hate most television shows and mass media. It is nothing but braindead, fucking garbage. I find it amazing that industrialized humans consider retarded animated cartoons and Hollywood movies to be “good entertainment”. Do these dumbfucks have even the slightest idea of how to entertain themselves? Can they do anything meaningful beyond the mere consumption of television and advertisements?
No, because most of these people probably work shitty, soul-crushing jobs that drain all of their energy. So when they arrive home after work, all they can do is watch some mind-numbing, retarded television shows to drift into sleep. And then, wake up the next morning to work at their shitty jobs. And then go home and watch television until they fall asleep…and repeat this cycle ad infinitium.

A couple of things I realized. That the vast majority of people think that collapse of industrial civilization and human extinction will never happen. Their excuses are due to willful ignorance or pure hubris. Usually it boils down to the following reasons…
1) Humans are too adaptive and too clever to go extinct
2) Technology will fix all of the world’s problems. Because it always has. And therefore, it always will.
3) It hasn’t ever happened before. Therefore, it will never happen
4) Technology is always progressing. There is no reason to think that technology will be unable to continue fixing the world’s problems into the future.
These reasons are all false hope. The rebuttals to these false claims is as follows:
1) Humans are not really adaptive. We are just clever enough to build and invent tools to allow us to survive in environments that our fragile bodies cannot otherwise exist in. Which has allowed human population to expand in a fashion, not much different from an invasive (or introduced) species. Our fate of population overshoot and collapse is already sealed.
2) For every “solution” technology created, several unintended consequences (or side effects) resulted. And we have already reached the point whereby the negative side-effects of technology are completely overwhelming any “benefits” technology could provide. And these side effects are easily negating any of the supposed benefits of technology.
Besides, technology cannot create energy. Technology is a by-product of available energy resources. And this energy source i.e. fossil fuels is rapidly running out. Without energy, there is no technology.
3) All species eventually become extinct. And this also applies to humans.
4) Technological “progress” does not imply that human civlization is becoming more sustainable. On the contrary, human civilization has become increasingly unsustainable as technology “progressed”. We have already reached the point whereby our entire global civilization could (and most likely will) suddenly and catastrophically collapse. And human extinction could easily result from such a collapse of industrial civilization.

I realized that we are already falling off the net energy cliff. More and more fossil fuel energy is simply being used to extract, refine and distribute fossil fuels. And less and less fossil fuel energy is available for producing the end-products of fossil fuels (especially that of food). The end result is that less and less (fossil fuel) energy is available for maintaining the infrastructure of industrial civilization (especially for the production and distribution of food and water). Meaning that food prices skyrocket (which is happening right now). The price of fossil fuels is not really important, because it can be kept artificially low (even as global oil extraction is already permanently declining). What is important is that the end-products of fossil fuels (the most important of which is food) is skyrocketing in price. The prices of everything is rapidly growing…everything from automobiles, computers, books and television sets. But none of those things are really important, because food/water distribution is the only thing that ultimately matters. And food/water prices are skyrocketing. And food prices will keep on exponentially skyrocketing, until the global supply chains collapse. And then, everyone on this planet dies.
I cannot imagine what outrageously-high food prices will be for 2024. Let alone for 2026 or 2030. I wouldn’t be surprised that only the richest people can afford any food by 2026 or 2030, which means that complete societal collapse will likely happen by then.

Once upon a time, no actually until recently IIRC, I believed that Nuclear Fusion Power and Socialism were the cure for humanities problems.
But then I heard from Randy Cool Stuff who I guess must work at the RAND think tank and my eyes were opened a little wider. RCS convinced me that nuclear fusion power will not save humanity it will just increase the speed at which humanity destroys the environment.
For nuclear fusion power to have had a positron effect it would have had to first of all been realized in the 1950s, and it would have had to have been not only combined with socialism but with de industrialization. And if humanity deindustrializes there is no need for nuclear fusion power in the first place. It will just lead to stupid tempations like a desire to mine for physical gold or diamonds, rather than philisophical gold or diamonds.
Double anyways niether socialism or deindustrialization were ever in the cards. The vast majority of those with power have no interest in socialism.
The vast majority of people have no interest in deindustrialization no matter how much the spew out about wanting a sustainable society.
Tripe anyways AI is the same as nuclear fusion power. Under the current capitalist system 99% of the benifits will go to the top .001 percent of the people.

Nuclear fusion is just hopium. It is just hype designed to fool the masses into believing in the myth of technological progress. I seriously doubt nuclear fusion energy (for humans) is achievable. And even if it was possible, given humanity’s exceptionally rapacious nature, we will most certainly cause our own extinction with it. We are already causing our own extinction with fossil fuel energy via peak oil/resource depletion and environmental degradation/ abrupt climate change.

Hate to admit it, but even if it is/was theoretically possible for humans to sustainably live off of renewable resources, that would never ever work in the real world. Why? Because humans are a fundamentally unsustainable species that is too greedy, too violent and too sexually promscious to prevent human overpopulation from eventually overwhelming the planet’s biosphere. Using renewable resources is theoretically the only “sustainable” way to exist on this planet. But it will never ever work in human societies. Because the short-term advantage of exploiting nonrenewable resources, waging warfare and overpopulation/overconsumption completely overwhelms any “advantage” of living “sustainably”. Because the tribe/country that lives unsustainably quickly gains an overwhelming advantage over the tribe(s)/countries that live sustainably. So humanity is destined for overpopulation, crash, and die off/extinction. It is that simple. And that crash and die off/extinction will probably happen much sooner anyone could have predicted. Yet the vast majority of clueless morons think NTHE will never happen. Of course, I don’t know the exact date when NTHE will happen. But based on all of the rational evidence, it is inevitable.

What amazes me is that people still believe in this consumerism garbage. Just look at any shopping mall or some other retailer. It is the exact same products being re-released every single year. Yet people eat it up. How many times does someone need to buy a new iPhone or the latest television set, every single year before they realize that this consumerism stuff is stupid and pointless?
I browse Amazon. Or Best Buy. Or Walmart. Or any other retailer. And I see the exact same products being sold, year after year…with slight modifications (and occassionally some minor technological improvements). But this consumerism stuff is getting totally pointless and stupid. Just more fossil fuel-based, mass-produced junk, year after year, am I right?
Really, it is obvious (to me) that technological progress is a myth. Especially since the number of new, groundbreaking- technological innovations has been exponentially declining during the past 15 to 20 years. Since the mid-to-late 2000s, smartphones and tablet PCs were the only new technological gimmick.
But now in 2023, this gimmick is already getting too old. And corporations are desperate to find the newest tech gimmick. And TBH, I think that smartphones/tablet PCs will the final tech gimmick before industrial civilization ends (for good).

After looking at the latest generation of video game consoles i.e. the PS5 and Xbox S Series on social media, I have come to the conclusion that technological “progress” is nearing (or already at) its final end. What “improvements” were made from the previous generation of video game consoles (aka 2013 to 2020 i.e. the PS4 and Xbox One) via the current ones (aka 2020 to present)? Nothing! Absolutely nothing. Diddly squat.
I already knew that technological progress was/is a myth, many years ago. Now, this myth is becoming even more obvious (to the intelligent, non-brainwashed people–like us).
But the advertisements and mainstream media continues lying and BSing to the masses about how technological “progress” is still “exponentially growing”. Which is a big fat lie! Yet the unwashed masses still believe in these corporate-advertisement lies! Hook, line and sinker.
What I realized over the years is that the average person actually believes in the lies of advertisements/corporate media! Which is why they are 100% unaware of the impending and imminent doom and near term extinction of humanity. Not only that, but they also hate it when I point out how their industrial/capitalist system is nothing but an unsustainable illusion that will disappear relatively soon.

I just realized that (almost) everything mentioned by corporate/mainstream media is BS and lies. Here is one of the many lies it tells.
(According to advertisements)…”computer technology is exponentially improving. Computers (in the 2020s) are 100 to 1,000 times more powerful than computers from the late 1990s/early 2000s. We will soon have a virtual reality world that will completely replace the real world. AI (Artifical Intelligence) will solve everything.”
(This is, of course, just hogwash. The reality is actually this….)
REALITY: There have only been very minor “improvements” in computer technology during the past 20 to 30 years. The only “progress” we made in computing tech is that computers are now thinner and more compact. But they are even less durable than in the past. In other words, your current, shitty computers/smartphones will breakdown even more quickly than ones made 10 or more years ago.
The whole “computer specs” mantra is just 100% nonsense. The “proof” we are offered of “exponential growth” in computer technology is that “computer specs are exponentially growing”. But this computer specs mantra is all a big, corporate advertising gimmick/lie. The claim that computers are “100 to 1,000 times more powerful than back in the 1990s” is nothing but 100% bs. Just advertising BS.
Really, the only real “improvement” in computing technology (since the 1990s) is that computers are now slimmer and more compact. While pretending that computing power is exponentially growing (which is a big fat lie). The only “advantage” to computers in 2020s is that they are slimmer and more compact (sometimes, not always).
But this comes with a huge caveat. Computers (these days) break down much, much more quickly than computers made 20 to 30 years ago.
A computer (from the 1990s) could easily last 5 to 10 years. A computer from the 2010s (or later) lasts no more than 2 to 3 years…if that.
We now have slimmer and more compact computers (keep in mind, it is only slimmer and more compact in some cases, not all cases). But there is a huge disadvantage to all this…these newly-made computers break down extremely quickly. And they have much shorter lifespans than older computers. While we pretend that modern computers are much faster/more powerful than older computers. (Which is a big fat lie, of course). Using that as “proof” of technological “progress”.
I realized that this myth of technological progress is nothing but a cheap, advertising gimmick to encourage the dumbed-down masses into relentless consuming, increasingly-lousy consumer products…while pretending that technology is “exponentially improving”.

It is very obvious (to me and a tiny percentage of the human population) that the mere presence of Homo Sapiens on this planet isn’t sustainable, meaning that human extinction is, most likely, gonna happen relatively soon. The global ecological crisis is (almost) always downplayed by everyone.
Nobody dares admit that there are too many people on this planet (for political correctness reasons). Nobody dares admit that it is already GAME OVER for the Planet Earth’s biosphere. No amount of “conservation” by humanity will save the Planet Earth’s biosphere at this point. Nobody dares admit that the annihilation of the natural world (by human industrial activities) will lead to humanity’s extinction in the relatively near future.
All we are told by mainstream media is that “renewable” energies will “solve” the climate change crisis. Of course, I know that there is not a chance in hell that renewable energies will ever replace fossil fuels. Fossil fuels, which underpin the entire edifice of industrial civilization. Fossil fuels, which cannot be replaced by any combination of alternative energies/resources. Fossil fuels, which are rapidly running out.
Instead, we either pretend that fossil fuels will never run out. Or we pretend that there is actually something that can replace fossil fuels (which there obviously isn’t). The reality is that the entire edifice of industrial civilization will catastrophically and abruptly collapse, once global fossil fuel extraction drops too low to maintain the global supply chains any longer (which will probably happen relatively soon). And once the global supply chains collapse, it is not just the end of industrial civilization. But the permanent end of any kind of human civilization. And human extinction will (probably) follow shortly after the collapse of industrial civilization.

You don’t need to worry about food production dropping down to zero for human extinction to happen. Even a relatively small shortage of food (let’s say 10% to 15% shortage) is enough to trigger collapse of industrial civilization and human extinction. Why? It is because of the way capitalism works. Let me explain.
Back in the 2010s, global food production was enough to feed 10 billion people. With a global population of just 7.5 billion people. Yet 1/4 to 1/3 of the global human population was already too poor to afford sufficient access to food. Even when food production was/is more than sufficient to feed the global human population, a very large percentage of the global human population cannot afford access to food/are literally dying of starvation.
Once food production is only slightly above the food demand of the global human population i.e there is only a slight surplus of food, food prices will skyrocket to such astronomically-high levels that most of the human population cannot afford any access to food (which is already happening RIGHT NOW). Once there is even a slight shortage of food, food prices will skyrocket to even more absurdly-high levels…that only the richest 10% can afford any access to food. And then, the bottom 80% to 90% of humanity can no longer afford any access to food.
And then, catastrophic social strife will begin. And this social strife will be so utterly catastrophic that no amount of draconinan police state apparatus can prevent it from causing the global supply chains (and thus, food production/distribution) to completely stop.
And once global food production/ distribution completely stops, we will probably quickly arrive at NTHE. In other words, the “invisible hand of the free market” will likely trigger complete human extinction even when there is only a slight shortage of food.

As for the deniers of peak oil, they are pretending that an unsustainable system can last forever. The evidence for peak oil is absolutely overwhelming. Virtually all of the oil was already discovered many decades ago. Virtually all of the oil fields were discovered before the 1970s. The governments never dare tell how much oil is actually left. And I wouldn’t trust any of the “official” global oil reserve estimates, because they are (most likely) exaggerations. The actual amount is probably much, much less than what the official reserve estimates say. The governments are still pretending that fossil fuels will never run out. To pretend that infinite economic growth can continue on a finite planet.
Ironically, the more people pretend that collapse won’t happen, the more inevitable collapse will become. The mental gymnastics that the deniers use to pretend that near term human extinction won’t happen is very, very pathetic. Really, human extinction is 100% gonna happen. And the cause(s) of it are also known…yet the deniers continue to mislead and hoodwink the masses 24/7. Don’t worry, when collapse of industrial civilization happens, nobody will make it out of it alive.
Humans will (most likely) become extinct relatively soon…although the exact date of human extinction is unknown. I suspect that no matter how many humans are crammed onto this planet before collapse happens, there is not even the slightest chance any of them will survive when SHTF happens aka when the permanent blackouts happen. I suspect that the human population will be very quickly be reduced from several billion people to just a few thousand people when collapse happens. And even if a few thousand people around the world make it past the initial die off, that tiny population will disappear once they run out of food to scavenge. And soon afterwards, there won’t be any a single human left on this planet.

TR, you should know better than to pretend that usury is a “good” thing. You pretend that usury is based off of “simply paying back a lender the money a burrower burrowed”. That is not true. Forgetting of course, the reality of compound interest.
The primary problem is not debt. The primary problem is not that people have to pay back the money that they burrowed from lenders. The primary problem is interest, especially compound interest.
How exactly are people supposed to pay back more money than the amount they burrowed? In most cases, it is impossible. The only way to pay off the interest from loans is for the economy to perpetually grow. Which has led to this infinite-growth insanity we now have.
Of course, I am not suggesting that capitalism will ever be abolished…because (realistically speaking) it won’t ever go away. Not until human extinction finally arrives. Which it will arrive. But to suggest that usury is a “good” thing is exactly what got us into this mess of NTHE in the first place.

Where can one can borrow money & only pay back the principle? Let me know who the lenders are. 😉
Usury is a major building block of a capitalist system. I have no problem with usury because I don’t finance things that I can’t afford to pay cash for.
If I borrow a hundred dollars & have to pay back $105, somebody is stupid. Paying the minimum each month is even dumber.
When younger,I used construction loans to build my homes & pay those off when the note comes due. Around 1993 I decided debt is not a virtue.

Michael Ruppert was right about petroleum being the entire foundation of industrial civilization. Just from the simple fact that petroleum-powered machines move all of the raw materials and supplies around the world. Petroleum is the foundation of the global supply chains. Without petroleum, the entire global supply chains collapses, because the raw materials and supplies used in manufacturing and distributing things cannot be moved around the world without oil/gas. The collapse of the global supply chains by itself can easily cause near term human extinction. Nevermind, the countless products (like plastics, paints, pharmaceuticals, asphalt, chemicals and pesticides) made from petroleum. Nevermind, that the extraction, construction, distribution and maintence/repair of non-petroleum based energy sources (nuclear, wind turbines, solar panels, hydroelectricity, etc) all depends on the oil-powered global supply chains. The whole industrial system is going to catastrophically and abruptly collapse (sooner or later). And no combination of alternative energies/resources can even mitigate–let alone prevent–the collapse of industrial civilization that will inevitably happen, as global oil extraction continues to perpeutally decline.

Realistically speaking, there is no way to prevent collapse of industrial civilization at this point. For many reasons. But one of the primary reasons might be due to overpopulation. There is no way to stop (or even slow down) human population growth. And as long as human population continues to exponentially grow, it is only inevitable that global famine arrives.
In fact, the actual situation is even worse than that. Even if human population growth completely stopped and stabilized at 8,100,000,000 people, global famine will still happen, due to declining crop yields. Our current human population numbers are already unsustainable. As long as industrial civilization persists, human population will continue to exponentially grow. So realistically speaking (if collapse still hasn’t happened) by 2040, human population would be at 9,000,000,000+ people. Collapse of industrial civilization and near term human extinction can only be delayed for an x number of extra years. It cannot be prevented. I don’t know how much longer it can be delayed TBH.

If I recall correctly, about 97% of the land on this planet has already been converted to human civilization (i.e. cities, agricultural lands, mining, tree farms, etc) by the late 20th century. If I recall correctly, around 50% to 60% of the land on Earth was already converted to human civilization at the BEGINNING OF THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION by the early 18th century. Most of the Earth was already occupied by human civilization by the time humans started to industrialize/burn fossil fuels. By the early 1700s, most of Europe, North Africa/Middle East, India, China, and the rest of the “Old World” was already occupied by human civilization. During the past 200 to 300 years of industrialization, the remaining areas of Earth’s wilderness was completely destroyed by human civilization. So North America, South America, Australia and (some parts) of Sub Sahara Africa were completely plundered during the past 200 to 300 years. Now, the oceans are even completely plundered and destroyed. No part of the Planet Earth’s biosphere remains unpillaged by mankind at this point.

It’s sad to see what overpopulator’s egos have done to this planet. I no longer hope they get what they deserve because they are going to get what they deserve. The saddest part to me is seeing pregnant women today not having any idea what is in store for their children. When the deer & turkeys are hanging around my yard with the chickens, I constantly apologize, out loud, to them for what this scum species had done to their home. When we go extinct maybe the 440+ nuclear power plants won’t kill all animal life.

How do I know that humanity is doomed for extinction? Ask yourself this simple question, “where does your food come from?” It comes from grocery stores. The vast majority of people cannot even imagine any alternative to the grocery store for food. Let alone imagine the need to obtain food via another more sustainable manner. And even the small percentage of us that realize how food is produced and distributed i.e. using fossil fuels, do not possess the resources to exist without grocery store food. Nobody possesses the knowledge nor resources to survive without grocery store food at this point. Therefore, it is only logical to conclude that once the global supply chains completely collapse. And there is no more food being delivered to grocery stores anymore, we (most likely) get near term human extinction. It is hard to imagine how this ghastly doomsday scenario can be avoided…even if the vast majority of people realized the need for obtaining food in a sustainable (non-fossil fuel dependent) manner. Because we simply don’t have any alternative to the current grocery store status quo for food…due to overpopulation and many other factors like global ecological collapse, soil depletion, etc

I was born in 1990. So I got to enjoy some of the “benefits” of industrial technology… especially of older tech like CRT computer monitors and CRT televisions. In fact, I was using a CRT desktop computer until a few years ago (up to 2016, I believe) until it completely broken down. The younger people (especially those born after 2005 or 2010) likely never even seen a CRT computer or CRT television ever in their life…except in photos or videos. Now, LCD televisions and computer monitors are the only option left. They stopped manufacturing CRTs (at least) 10 years ago.
The newer generations are left with increasingly water-downed and downgraded technological gadgets to use. Like smartphones, tablet PCs and ultra-thin/fragile laptops, etc. At least, older people (like us) could use more durable and bulkier older televison sets/computers.

A couple of things to remember. Collapse of industrial civilization and near term human extinction (NTHE) will probably arrive very suddenly. Seemingly without any prior warning signs. Everything may seem “normal” up until NTHE suddenly arrives. The only abnormality (in the 2020s) is that food prices (and prices in general) are skyrocketing…but everything else still seems “normal” and “fine”. This “inflation” is just seen a “normal” process of business-as-usual.
Of course, the mainstream media (MSM) continues to deny reality 24/7. Even though the number of malnourished, starving and impoverished people is rapidly growing, we still pretend that BAU (aka technological “progress”) will continue indefinitely. It is already obvious that the global industrial system is rapidly declining and deteriorating. And that technological “progress” is rapidly declining. Yet, the MSM pretends that technological “progress” is still rapidly growing (which it is not). And MSM still pretends that economic “growth” will continue indefinitely (even though industrial society is already rapidly declining and deteriorating).
And we continue to slide down the global oil extraction curve…since we already passed the all-time peak of global oil extraction at least 5 years ago. The MSM is constantly misleading the masses. I don’t trust anything MSM says. I have known for many years that MSM is just propaganda. There is hardily any truth behind MSM. Just a constant stream of distractions, lies and divisive “us” vs “them” politics is what the MSM consists of.
Setting aside the problem of overpopulation, the global capitalist system is unable to save us from NTHE, because it cannot solve any of the fundamental problems of the world. Instead, we are presented with a bunch of phoney “solutions” (like “renewable” energies and AI technologies) that just continues the transfer of wealth from the bottom 99% to the top 1%. The global economy’s catastrophic and abrupt collapse is inevitable, since every pyramid scheme eventually collapses. Even if that scheme is the entire global economy.

I know that modern agriculture has much higher crop yields than agriculture in earlier times. This is obvious when you see how incredibly densely-packed crop fields are in the industrial age compared to earlier times (i.e. the Ancient and Medieval periods).
The increased crop yields, however, solve nothing. Especially because human population is now much, much higher than any prior period in human history. And now, modern agriculture is completely dependent on fossil fuels. Even if the food isn’t grown using fossil fuel-powered machines, it had to be transported from the farm (to food processing plants). And then to warehouses. And finally to the supermarkets. Using fossil fuel-powered machines (i.e. cargo ships, trains, airplanes, trucks and etc).
I think that someone has to be seriously delusional to deny the reality of NTHE. And they also have no understanding of physics. Nor do they understand how really dependent we are of fossil fuels, to believe that NTHE won’t happen.
Every aspect of 21st century, industrial civilization is 100% dependent on fossil fuels. Fossil fuels underpin the entire edifice of industrial civilization. And fossil fuels are rapidly running out. Meaning industrial civilization is rapidly running out of time.

I cannot imagine what the next 5 to 6 years of the 2020s will be like. Except I know that everything is rapidly deteroriating. Food prices will continue to skyrocket. Unemployment will continue to grow. The global economy will continue to deteroriate…until it ends for good. There is no hope whatsoever that any breakthrough technologies can even delay–let alone prevent–near term human extinction from happening. In fact, I doubt there will ever be a mass awakening of the unsustainability of human civilization–because the ruling, class elites will continue to bamboozle the masses into believing that everything is “fine”.
The entire history of human civilization has been living off of burrowed time (since the dawn of civilization)–this time which is rapidly running out. Humanity was doomed long before the Industrial Revolution/fossil fuels. The seeds of our extinction were already planted many thousands of years ago with the dawn of agriculture.
Really, someone has to be seriously delusional to think that human civilization will never end. Someone has to be seriously delusional to think that the extinction of mankind isn’t being caused by humanity’s greed and stupidity. Someone has to be seriously delusional to think that the end of human civilization isn’t somehow linked to overpopulation.
Because the plain and simple truth is that there is too many humans on this planet. And the global human overpopulation explosion will crash relatively soon. Agriculture is fundamentally unsustainable. And catastrophic global famine is rapidly arriving (assuming that isn’t already beginning).

Here is an important quote from Richard Manning, made in 2005, about human agriculture. “From the dawn of human civilization (about 10,000 years ago) all the way up until the early to mid 20th century, agriculture had one sole strategy. That was gradually increasing the amount of land that was cultivated for crops and/or domesticated livestock. Meaning converting more and more of the natural world and biosphere into agricultural crop fields (to support an ever-expanding human population).
By around the First and Second War, humans started to quickly run out of new lands to cultivate. So we faced a major crisis for human civilization. The human population was around 2 to 3 billion people in the 1950s.
Yes, we cultivated some new, extra land since the 1950s, but we also lost alot of land since the 1950s. Meaning the total amount of land under cultivation remained roughly the same since the 1950s. However, thanks to Norman Bourlag (the architect of the so-called “Green Revolution”) funded with Rockefeller money, humanity came up with new, ingenious ways to increase crop yields on the existing agricultural lands.
This required selective breeding of crops (especially rice, wheat and corn), so that more of the crop’s stalk was dedicated to producing edible food (rather than just inedible stalk). And so that more food could be grown per acre than prior to the Green Revolution. The end result of the Green Revolution was that crop yields (around the world) tripled or quadrapeled (from 1950s to the 1980s). So human population grew from 3 billion people in 1960 to over 6 billion people (by the beginning of the 21st century). Human population growth fueled by growth in agricultural production.
This increased crop production was thanks to advances in crop breeding. However, the Green Revolution is founded upon a secret that hardily anyone mentions…energy from fossil fuels. Because the chemical fertilizers that support modern agriculture are derived straight from fossil fuels. Not to mention, all the fossil fuel-powered machines used to plant, grow and harvest crops. Not to mention, all the fossil fuel-powered machines used to transport crops (from crop fields) to food processing plants. And then, using more fossil fuel-powered machines for transporting processed-foods from the food processing plants to grocery stores.
This means that modern agriculture and our entire, global food production/ distribution system is completely underpinned by fossil fuels. We didn’t make famine go away with the Green Revolution. We simply delayed it by using fossil fuel energy to increase crop yields, to subsequently increase human population. As global oil production peaks in the near future (and then subsequently, enters permanent decline), that means less and less energy will be available for food production/distribution. Meaning that our entire fossil-fuel based, industrial agriculture system is completely undermined by peak oil (and a plethora of other factors). This means that we are facing global famine of epic proportions in the coming decades (this quote was written in 2005 btw).”

The truth is…the economy is already starting to shrink. All of the economic “growth” is now absorbed by the top 5% to 10%. While the wages/incomes for the bottom 90% to 95% is already flat-lining or declining. Unemployment is rapidly and consistently rising. The government and MSM are ALWAYS under-reporting unemployment figures. They never dare tell you (the masses) the truth.
That we have already entered a permanent global economic depression (starting in the 2010s). Which will eventually result in complete global economic collapse, then the collapse of industrial civilization…and eventually lead to human extinction.
Economic growth is already over…since we have already passed the all-time peak of global oil extraction. Now, all this “growth” is accumulating in the rich, ruling class’ pockets. While everyone else is becoming poorer and poorer…especially from the skyrocketing prices, yet flat-lining and declining wages/incomes.
I know that the elites will not get the last laugh…because no amount of money they accumulate will save them when NTHE happens. Nobody is getting out of collapse of industrial civilization alive. Certainly, the ill-gotten wealth of the elite, ruling class will all be taken away from them when NTHE happens. Who could have imagined that a global economy based off of usurious lending (requiring more money to be paid back than what was lent out), would require never-ending growth in production and consumption? To pay back the ever-growing interest on debts…to stimulate never-ending economic growth aka growth in the money supply? Would eventually collapse when global oil extraction (and resource depletion in general) starts to permanently shrink?
And eventually, commodity prices (especially that of food) skyrocket to the point of food becoming completely unaffordable to most people. And global famine eventually arrives even as global human population continues to uncontrollably grow. And then, catastrophic social strife i.e. uncontrollable and unimaginably violent mass rioting and looting occurs (due to food shortages and economic contraction/economic collapse)? And the police and law enforcements cannot do jack shit to stop this catastrophic social strife from eventually causing the entire edifice of industrial civilization to completely and permanently collapse. And then, the global supply chains permanently stop. And then, industrial civilization ends. And everyone on this planet is eventually killed by social strife or starvation. And then, there is literally nobody left on this planet (not-too-far from now)?
Who could have thought that NTHE would eventually happen? Yet, we pretend that the game of capitalism will never end…even though humanity is rapidly progressing towards near term extinction.

This following picture sums up our global capitalist system very well…
“Bringing you lower-quality and fewer choices since the 16th century” is indeed correct. What “choice” do we now have in 2023/2024? Almost no real choice. And whatever “choice” we now have is all illusionary. For example, 15 to 20 years ago we could still “choose” between a CRT vs LCD computer monitor and/or television. Now, there is no more CRT. Just LCD. And there are countless other examples of how there is fewer and fewer choice, and lower and lower quality.

It is not just a problem of overpopulation, resource depletion, environmental degradation, and a plethora of other terminal flaws of human civilization. Ironically, humans are getting dumber and dumber…despite “advancements” in modern technologies like “smart”phones.
I find it ironic that they call them “smart”phones, when most of the people using such devices are complete idiots. They are more like “dumb”phones, TBH. I talked to alot of young people (both offline and online). And most of them are complete idiots.
They even lack in basic reading, writing, mathematic skills, common sense and the other basic skills/knowledge to function in modern society. Yet, they are supposed to survive in our industrial society, despite being completely ill-equipped to survive in it. The masses (especially people under the age of 25 years old as of 2024) are now so dumbed down that many/most of them cannot even perform a simple job such as a cashier or janitor. Let alone complex jobs (such as an accountant or brain surgeon).
But hey, we now have “smart”phone apps and AI (Artificial Intelligence) that will magically “fix” everything. And keep industrial civilization running in perpeutity! Just joking. All jokes aside, the truth be told is that no amount of new, fancy technology can allow this stupid human species to survive on Earth for much longer. Especially on an overpopulated planet of rapidly depleting natural resources and severe environmental degradation/toxic pollution.
Our overpopulated numbers will do nothing to save us from extinction. In fact, human overpopulation/uncontrollable human population growth is one of the primary reasons we are facing NTHE in the first place.

The debt numbers barely matter in reality, since it is just fictional numbers. Nobody cares whether that debt can be paid back or not (and let’s be honest, nobody expects that debt to ever be realistically paid off).
In economic terms, the skyrocketing prices of commodities (especially that of food) is the only thing that actually matters. Once food prices uncontrollably rise (and most importantly, wages don’t rise anymore), you know that something is seriously wrong. Because in previous decades, wages could somewhat keep up with rising prices.
Not anymore. Wages are stagnant. Unemployment is rapidly growing. Fewer and fewer have any income whatsoever (let alone an adequete income) to afford basic necessities (like food and shelter) anymore.
Why is this the case? For many reasons, but one of the main causes is peak oil/resource depletion and climate change/ environmental degradation. The money supply is essentially irrelevant, because the physical resources/global environment is what ultimately underpins the global economy/human civilization. Once resource extraction starts to permanently decline (due to resource depletion) and the environment degrades/collapses, global famine and global economic collapse becomes inevitable.
Our global capitalist economic system is all a bunch of hogwash because it errorneously assumes that there is unlimited natural resources. And it errorneously assumes that money and technology will solve everything. And it errorneously believes that the world is run by a fictional abstraction (called money). Rather than the world being powered by energy (i.e. fossil fuels).
The economists and policy makers are either delusional and stupid (like everyone else). And I doubt they have any “secret” plan to save industrial civilization and humanity from extinction. I think our global economic system is truly out-of-control. With nobody actually controlling it.
Once global oil extraction continues its perpeutal decline, once abrupt climate change goes into overdrive, and once global famine/global economic collapse begins, it is GAME OVER. And then, I predict a sudden and catastrophic collapse of industrial civilization eventually happens. And eventually, the die off of the global human population will be so severe that there will eventually be no more humans left.

I know that our global capitalist system has several fatal flaws. First of all, capitalism needs perpetual growth. Which means that without perpetual growth in production and consumption, the system will quickly collapse. Even the largest corporations (like Walmart and Amazon) would quickly collapse without perpeutal growth in consumption/revenues/profits. If production cannot increase (or is, in fact, declining), prices must inevitably rise.
Otherwise, businesses will quickly go bankrupt, unless prices rapidly rise (as production flat-lines or declines). I think food prices will continue to skyrocket, even as wages flat-line (or decline). And unemployment rises. Meaning fewer and fewer people will be able to afford access to food (and other basic necessities).
I am fairly certain that the ruling, class elites know about the inevitability of global famine and collapse of industrial civilization. And this is exactly why they set up a police state and survelliance state apparatus, since 9/11. So that they can desperately maintain control over industrial civilization for a few extra years. But no amount of draconian police-state survelliance can prevent collapse from happening. Because collapse of industrial civilization is inevitable.
All the elites can do is delay it for an x number of years. Once collapse happens, there is no way to realistically prevent complete collapse from eventually causing human extinction.

Let’s be 100% realistic. This species (Homo sapiens) is irredemably corrupt and fundamentally unsustainable. To say that we can revert back to more “sustainable”, pre-industrial times (after collapse of industrial civilization happens) is supremely naive and delusional anthropocentrism. Because even those pre-industrial times (i.e. Medieval Europe or Ancient Rome) were not remotely sustainable.
Just look at mankind’s track record. It has been nothing more than ecological destruction, pillaging and looting. And the few tribes (i.e. Native Americans and other indigenious peoples) that didn’t live unsustainably (aka lived sustainably and peacefully) all got genocided by those that lived unsustainably (i.e. Europeans and Westeners). Even if certain tribes lived sustainably in the past, they inevitably got genocided and exterminated by those that lived unsustainably.
Humanity is indeed “an exceptionally rapacious primate”. And near term human extinction will finally rid this planet of these human vermin.
The Earth does not “need” humanity to “rule” over it. Humanity is nothing but a pest on this planet. The ultimate invasive species. And near term human extinction will get rid of this human disease. For good.
Keep on breeding human beings! Because the more human population uncontrollably grows, the quicker humanity will go extinct when NTHE arrives! Humans are literally breeding themselves to extinction. Not to mention, profiteering themselves to extinction via unbridled capitalism.

Really, that hype about AI (Artificial Intelligence) replacing jobs is just a distraction and red flag. I talked to many city dwellers, who falsely believe that the areas outside of cities are filled with wildlife paradises. I dare not tell them the truth…that the areas outside of cities are just degraded and polluted environments that are used for resource extraction (and waste dumping) for the overpopulated city dwellers. I know that most people are so domesticated and brainwashed that they falsely believe that the natural world is too resilent to collapse from mankind’s activities.
When in reality, the world’s biosphere/ ecosystems have already been completely destroyed by human civilization. Not just degraded ecosystems. More like 100% completely destroyed ecosystems.
That is how effective corporate propaganda is. Those advertisements make the average person falsely believe that there is no global ecological collapse/6th mass extinction. Or at worst, the corporate MSM makes people believe that this ecological destruction is just “an isolated case”. The MSM fools people into believing that ecological destruction is just an abberation, and not the norm.
When in reality, the biosphere is already completely wrecked. What little “wilderness” that is left on this planet is just a tourist attraction or zoo. There is very little (if any) “wilderness” left on this planet. And what little wilderness is left is completely wrecked by habitat fragmentation (caused by many factors. But especially from automobile traffic).
Really, the ignorance and denial is so profound that most people still believe in the lies of industrial civilizations i.e. there is no 6th mass extinction, there is no human overpopulation, there is no peak oil/resource depletion, that global Malthusian famine will never arrive, that there is no possibility of humanity causing its own self-extinction, etc.
I suspect that many (if not) most of these people always lived in cities. So they never even ventured outside of a city ever in their entire life. And the few people that went into the “wilderness” falsely believe that some countryside filled with domesticated crops is “nature”. I don’t care what these fools believe in right now, because NTHE will come as a complete surprise (to them) when it inevitably arrives.
I obviously don’t the exact date when NTHE will arrive. Which just gives these clueless deniers an excuse to falsely believe that it will never happen. Given the current trends, humanity is certainly headed towards near term extinction (NTE). For many reasons. But just look at the overpopulation problem. The Earth simply cannot support the current human population for much longer. Anyone, saying otherwise, is either delusional or stupid.
We have already entered the permanent decline of global oil extraction. Every passing month/year, global oil extraction is already steadily declining. It will only be a matter of time before the global supply chains permanently collapse (from fossil fuel depletion and resource depletion in general). And when the global supply chains collapse, we will quickly get NTHE.
I don’t know the exact date when NTHE will arrive…because the precise statistics about fossil fuel reserves and other resource reserves are hidden from the public. But I reckon it will probably happen much sooner–rather than later. NTHE will, most likely, arrive between 2030 and 2080. With the timing probably closer to the nearer time frame, rather than the later time frame. Probably around the 2040s or 2050s.
I suspect the collapse of industrial civilization (CoIC) and NTHE will arrive very abruptly and suddenly–seemingly without any prior warnings. Of course, the people giving out the warnings were all ignored or punished. Nobody dares mention how human overpopulation is the primary cause of human extinction…because of political and religious reasons.
I don’t think the governments or “elites” have any secret plan to delay the bursting of the human overpopulation bubble. There is no realistic way to stop (or even slow down) human population growth. The longer we delay CoIC, the human population will only continue to uncontrollably grow larger, thereby making the collapse and human extinction even more epic when it inevitably arrives.

The elites are unable to even admit that there is a fundamental problem with our economic system. The elites are unable to admit that the system is fundamentally broken.
How can you honestly believe that NTHE can be avoided when business-as-usual continues? This species will go extinct. If humans were as “wise” as they claim, they would be fixing the root problems rather than denying that such problems exist. Don’t worry…near term human extinction will happen.
NTHE cannot be avoided, especially if nobody is even addressing the root problems. There is no realistic way to prevent NTHE. Especially when those clueless deniers pretend that there is no problem to begin with. These stupid humans are just too busy generating profit to bother saving their sorry asses from NTHE. Don’t worry. They will all be dead when NTHE happens.

If you think that NTHE can be avoided, you are seriously delusional. Just look at the lies and denial of our so-called corporate-governments. Never do they even admit that extracting nonrenewable resources is unsustainable. Never do they ever consider that extracting nonrenewable resources is unsustainable because those said resources will eventually run out. Instead, our dishonest corporate-governments are able to fool themselves and the masses into believing that nonrenewable and finite resource extraction can go on forever at an exponentially increasing rate.
Are humans any smarter than yeast? Nope. It doesn’t seem that way. Those dumbfucks just breed and consume as quickly as possible. And then industrial civilization collapses. And NTHE arrives. And there is no more humans left on this planet. Humans are able to fool themselves into believing that infinite growth can happen on a finite planet. I wonder what their expression would be when NTHE happens? Really, they deserve it.

I don’t trust the MSM. Because they are just there to Distract, Deceive and Divide (the Three Big ‘Ds’) the masses. And if you think that we have any “freedom of speech”, you are wrong. Because YouTube is actively suppressing the truth. By making it impossible to find the truth on its search engines. They started this truth suppression many years ago. But since 2020, their censorship is greatly increasing.
LoL at “free speech”. The corporate-state gets to determine what you can or cannot say. And it is treason to tell the truth in our empire of lies. We have already entered a police state.
The only place where you wouldn’t get censored (at this point, in 2024) is Blogger. I suspect that the CoIC blog/website might go offline before NTHE happens. But the good news is that WayBackMachine (WBM) has archived the articles on this site. And I could simply post the WBM copies of this site onto my blog.
Here is the link to my blog btw…

The worst case scenario that could happen IMO is that there is nowhere left on the Internet to discuss the truth before NTHE arrives. I wouldn’t be discussing CoIC/NTHE on Facebook…well, because guess who is watching you on FB? Big Brother. And Reddit is a shitty cesspool that I avoid whenever possible. And Twitter is also garbage.
Hopefully, there is still a place to discuss CoIC on the Internet before and until it arrives. Because what is the point of using the Internet if the truth is completely suppressed by misinformation and lies?

As for the topic of capitalism vs socialism, it is unlikely socialism will ever be implemented. Especially given how powerful corporations are. Also, given the unsustainable size of the global human population, I don’t think that even socialism will save humanity from extinction. At best, it might reduce the amount of suffering while global famine occurs. But I suspect that capitalism will continue to exist (until there is no more humans left on Earth), and it will greatly amplify the suffering from the upcoming global famine. Especially from the mass starvation, skyrocketing food prices, and poverty/unemployment caused by global famine and global economic contraction.

I don’t think that there will ever be a mass awakening happening. Let alone a mass awakening that could potentially prevent NTHE. Remember, the ruling, class elites control all the information that the masses receive. Including all the information on the social media and Internet. This is exactly why virtually nobody has a clue what is actually going on in the world. Because the elites are intentionally misleading the masses. We don’t live in the Information Age. We live in the (Mis)information Age.
As such, when NTHE happens, nobody could have foreseen it happening…because they have been so thoroughly brainwashed that they never could have seen it happening. Everyone is still brainwashed into thinking that NTHE will never happen…especially because of the misinformation created by our ruling class.

The MSM is constantly and intentionally misleading the masses. For example, MSM claims that peak oil is because of “peak demand”. Because supposedly the demand for oil will peak because “renewable” energies will replace oil. And then we can sustain infinite economic growth with infinite growth in “renewable” energies.
Never does MSM ever dare mention the reality of resource depletion. TPTB are still pretending that there is infinite natural resources on this planet. Never does MSM dare mention that peak oil is actually due to resource depletion i.e. the supply is running out. And oil extraction peaks and then enters perpeutal decline because of resource depletion. Just as with the extraction of any finite and nonrenewable resource i.e. gold, silver and iron ore.
Colin Campbell is mocked and ignored because he dares mention that global oil extraction will peak and decline because of resource depletion. Instead, the elites pretend that infinite economic growth can continue on a finite planet.
When in reality, global oil extraction already peaked in the 2010s. And it platuted for a few years. And it started its permanent decline around 2018/2019. These days TPTB don’t even dare mention how much global oil extraction has already declined…because that would trigger a worldwide panic. Instead, the reality of peak oil (and resource depletion in general) is actively being supressed on social media.
Nor do the elites want the masses to know that the global economy is already starting to permanently contract. And peak oil (and resource depletion in general) is the primary cause of this permanent economic contraction. Capitalism is very poorly-equipped to deal with resource depletion and environmental degradation.
The reality of abrupt climate change is also being ignored or denied. Instead, we pretend that abrupt climate change isn’t real. The MSM continues to deny the reality of abrupt climate change. When in reality, the global climate has already reached certain tipping points. And there is no returning to the stable climate of the past anymore.

That “renewable” energy (i.e. wind turbines, solar panels and biofuels) stuff will do absolutely nothing, whatsoever, to even delay–let prevent–collapse of industrial civilization and near term human extinction from happening. On the contrary, it might get us to NTHE even faster because it wastes the rapidly-depleting natural resources on useless contraptions that provide little to no EROEI. The main reason that this nonsense is being promoted and manufactured is because it is a good way to generate short-term profits right before NTHE arrives. It is just a last desperate attempt to make profits and pretend that BAU won’t end…right before CoIC/NTHE arrives.

I strongly suspect that NTHE is unavoidable at this point. And I suspect that it will (most likely) be a sudden and catastrophic collapse…that happens seemingly without any prior warnings. I highly doubt that humanity will simply revert back to “simpler” technologies after collapse of industrial civilization (like horse-drawn carts or sail ships)…because those earlier technologies were not remotely ecologically-sustainable either.
It is painfully obvious to me that humanity’s presence on this planet is completely unsustainable. It is not the result of “industrialism” or fossil fuels that got us to human extinction. This species is fundamentally unsustainable. It is as simple as that. Humanity has been wrecking the natural world for many thousands of years before the Industrial Revolution.
Just look at the uncontrollable growth of human population as one of the many signs of humanity’s innate unsustainability. If there is truly a way to prevent NTHE, then why aren’t the elites doing anything to save us? Because humanity is doomed. There is no salvation whatsoever for humans. If there is truly a way to prevent NTHE, then why is unbridled capitalism growing in its exploitation and destruction? Surely, it is obvious that capitalism isn’t going to save humanity from extinction…instead, it will be used to extract as much profit as possible until there is no more people left on this planet.
Look at this way. Look at all the predatory money-lending, destructive and exploitative consumer products (like video games that are increasingly no different from actual gambling) being used to swindle the masses, the mass media promoting people to breed as many human babies as possible, etc. The infinite-growth paradigm is going into over-drive (despite economic contraction already starting)…because these human beings are nothing more than foddler for generating profit.

It is obvious that technological “progress” solves absolutely nothing. If you don’t believe me, then you are simply delusional. Ask yourself this simple question…what has the technological development of agriculture “solved”? Absolutely nothing. Except it has allowed human population to uncontrollably grow. The same applies to every other technology humans invented/discovered. What has the discovery of clothing and fire “solved”? Nothing except it has allowed humans to expand into colder regions of the world, to plunder the resources and wilderness of those regions. What has gunpowder, ships, automobiles, computers, smartphones, etc solved? Absolutely nothing except inflate the ego of this piece of fucking shit human species. The only thing that will solve humanity’s problems is near term human extinction finally wiping off everyone of these piece of shit humans for good. Which will definitely happen. There is a common misconception that capitalism is a “natural” state of the world. When in fact, capitalism is a relatively recent invention. Capitalism didn’t exist until around 500 years ago. And capitalism started in Western Europe. And during the past 400 to 500 years, capitalism spread throughout the entire globe, primarily because of European colonialism.
Previous socio-economic systems (like chattel slavery and feudalism) were very bad (just like capitalism). But capitalism solves none of the problems of earlier modes of human civilization…and then it creates a whole bunch of new, deadly problems.
I don’t believe that humans will revert back to chattel slavery or feudalism, after global capitalism collapses. Because the end of capitalism very literally means the extinction of mankind. Because there will be very little (if any) resources left on this planet, after the collapse of industrial capitalism. There isn’t anymore physical foundations for any future civilizations, after global capitalism collapses.
And that collapse is rapidly arriving. Industrial capitalism is already nearing its end. Because global oil extraction already peaked during the prior decade of the 2010s. And in the 2020s, global oil extraction is already starting its perpeutal decline. Meaning the global economy is already starting to permanently shrink. Global capitalism will quickly collapse, IMO, without constant increases in production and consumption. Because declining global oil extraction (and resource depletion in general) means that industrial production starts to permanently shrink. Meaning prices skyrocket and unemployment also skyrockets. Which is happening RIGHT NOW.
And it won’t be long before catastrophic social strife arrives (due to global economic collapse and global famine simultaneously occuring). And when this social strife begins, the global supply chains will quickly collapse. And then, NTHE will quickly occur.
Simply put, when permanent black outs happen around the world, then you know that collapse of industrial civilization and near term human extinction has finally arrived. And these black outs are guranateed to eventually happen (most likely in the very near future) because global oil extraction is starting to rapidly decline. And without sufficient fossil fuel supplies, the electrical grids and supply chains will very quickly fail. When that failure happens, NTHE will very quickly arrive.

I have seen some AI generated “artwork” on social media websites. And some fools offer that as “proof” that technology can “fix” all of the world’s problems. Surely, they cannot be that delusional?
It fixes absolutely nothing. That fancy computer technology will fix absolutely nothing when peak oil and climate change soon causes global economic collapse and global famine to occur. Most people don’t understand that all that technological gadgetry cannot exist without cheap and abundant fossil fuels to power never-ending economic growth. Nor can it exist without a stable climate to sustain global crop yields.
That abundant fossil fuel supply and stable climate which are both rapidly disappearing. Without a stable energy supply and without a stable climate, civilization simply disintergrates and collapses.
Faith in technological “progress” is dangerous and stupid because it means having faith that our unsustainable civilization can last forever (which it won’t, of course). Collapse of industrial civilization and near term human extinction is fast arriving, yet the masses still have faith that technology will “save” us. Such faith is delusional. That faith in technology is equally as irrational as people that believe in that religious nonsense.

It is fairly obvious how capitalism works. I have to trick/swindle other people to buy my stuff, so that I can buy other people’s stuff. In other words, I have to get other people into debt, so that I can pay off my debts/avoid debts. And other people are doing the exact same thing to me. To get me into debt to pay off their debts. The economy needs infinite growth in production/ consumption. And more importantly, continuous increases in prices, so that a profit/interest payments can be generated.
This is obviously unsustainable. Because more and more stuff needs to be produced/sold at ever higher prices. Otherwise, businesses quickly become unprofitable/go bankrupt. Once production can no longer increase (in fact, eventually production starts its permanent decline), prices not only rise. But prices skyrocket at an unbelievable rate. Yet incomes/wages remain stagnant and unemployment steadily rises. Meaning fewer and fewer people can afford access to food or other goods.
And the prices (especially that of food) will continue to uncontrollably skyrocket. Until only a relatively small percentage of people can afford access to food (or anything else for that matter). Which is rapidly happening right now. Peak oil, global warming, global famine, economic contraction, etc completely undermines the global capitalist system. Which requires infinite growth. When growth is no longer possible (in fact, the economy starts to shrink), the whole system quickly becomes untenable.
Because even when food and other products were relatively abundant/cheap, many people were too poor to afford access to it. When food and goods become scarce, fewer and fewer people can afford it. And eventually, industrial civilization completely (and rather suddenly) collapses.
I hate to admit, but NTHE is unavoidable at this point. I obviously don’t know the exact date when it will arrive, but I suspect it probably isn’t too far way.

Once the global supply chains collapse, I believe that 99% of the global human population will quickly die within a few short years of its collapse. Even if there are a few thousand/few million indigenious/tribal people on this planet that somehow manage to survive without the global supply chains, it is unlikely they will survive collapse of industrial civilization in the long run…because even if there are a couple of thousand/a few million people who survive after the electrical grids/supply chains permanently fail, the global temperatures will quickly skyrocket when industrial civilization permanently stops spewing GHGs into the atmosphere. And when the aerosol masking effect goes away, global temperatures will almost instantly skyrocket. Thus, removing any potential habitat for anyone who could potentially survive the global supply chain/electrical grid collapse. This is especially true since the only uncontacted, non-civilized tribes (left on this planet) live in the tropical regions of the world. Which will surely become uninhabitable even faster than higher latitudes (where all of the “civilized” people live) from global warming. And once these tribal people lose their habitat from the lost of global dimming, they will have to travel outside of their so-called “Gardens of Eden”. And they will be left with an ecologically devastated planet…and then probably die from the lack of wild animals, lack of wild plants, lack of clean water, lack of clean air, etc to survive off of. Nevermind, the uncontrolled meltdown of the 440+ nuclear reactors around the world spewing high-toxic radiation…that will potentially kill off any humans who could potentially survive the collapse of the global supply chains. Realistically speaking, I find it hard to imagine any humans surviving collapse of industrial civilization…even if there are still some people who can survive without the global supply chains…because of loss of habitat from the loss of global dimming, global ecological collapse, nuclear reactor meltdowns, etc

The only person, who dares directly mention the overpopulation problem, is Michael Ruppert. Nobody dares address the overpopulation nor capitalist problems. Because that is too politically incorrect.
I never heard Guy McPherson mention that we get abrupt climate change because of overpopulation. Guy McPherson mentions overpopulation a few times. But he never links it to the global environmental crisis (for some strange reason). Everything that the doomers mentioned (15 to 20 years ago) is now becoming a reality. Not only is the economy permanently contracting and unemployment skyrocketing, plus, wages are, in fact, being reduced. People are literally getting reductions in their paychecks/incomes compared to 5 to 10 years ago. Yet, prices are skyroceting.
Don’t believe in the MSM’s BS about economic “growth”. Only the rich, elites are getting richer and richer (because of price gouging)…while everyone else is getting poorer and poorer. Only the rich elites are benefiting from economic “growth” (more like skyrocketing prices, am I right?).
Without growing global oil extraction, the economy cannot grow in size. Without constantly increasing the amount industrial production, there is no way to provide enough jobs to combat unemployment. Now, that global oil extraction has already started its perpeutal decline, the economy is starting to permanently shrink. Meaning that fewer and fewer jobs are available. And wages/income, in fact, start to shrink. Yet, prices (especially that of food) skyrockets.
As global oil extraction continues its perpeutal decline, the economy will continue its perpeutal shrinkage. A perpeutally shrinking economy means that the interest on debts becomes increasingly-impossible to pay back. Because it requires economic growth to pay back the interest on debts.
It won’t be long before the entire global economic paradigm fails for good (because of peak oil and resource depletion in general)…because permanent economic contraction will make paying back interests on debts impossible. Nevermind, the plethora of other factors that will lead to collapse of industrial civilization…and eventually lead to near term human extinction.
Nevermind, the fact that global human population is still uncontrollably growing. And literally the only thing that will put an end to human population growth is CoIC and NTHE. I listened to a Youtube video (back 3 to 4 years ago) that states that “if we are lucky, collapse of industrial civilization and near term human extinction might not happen in the 2020s. Primarily because the viscious demand destruction of food, fossil fuels and other resources and raw materials is sufficient enough to delay the collapse for a few extra years. But it is (almost) guranateed to happen by the 2030s. Regardless of the exact date of collapse, it is 100% guranateed to happen, sooner or later. Especially when the global supply chains finally break down.””
It is already much, much to late to prevent NTHE. The only thing we can now do is delay it (for a few extra years) via viscious demand destruction of food, fossil fuels and other resources/supplies. Which is a completely futile and desperate tactic. Because NTHE cannot be indefinitely delayed. It is not a matter of IF it will happen. But merely a question of WHEN it will happen. When the electrical grids permanently black out and you hear 24/7 gunshots on the streets, then you know that NTHE has arrived.
No amounts of prepping will make any real difference, when NTHE finally arrives… because I doubt anyone will survive CoIC, no matter how “well-prepared” they think they are. The only “preparation” for NTHE is to consciously avoid debt for as long as possible…because if you are in debt, you will have to work your ass off (in a futile attempt) to pay off that debt. So you won’t be able to enjoy life (before NTHE arrives) if you are in debt peonage.
Getting into debt is/was (almost) always a bad idea (even when the global economy was expanding in the past) because it is almost impossible to pay off that debt (unless you are one of those lucky folks who can start their own successful business and become extremely rich). Getting into debt (right now) is an even worse idea, because there is almost no chance of paying off the interest on your debts…especially since the global economy is now starting to permanently shrink.
An intelligent/rational person would be denouncing the corruption and unsustainability of our global capitalist economy. By plainly stating that NTHE is guranateed to happen. Rather than pretending that this capitalist pyramid scheme economy can last forever (which it won’t, of course). Yet, (almost) everyone pretends that NTHE won’t ever happen. And they will vigilantly defend the capitalist system; this system which is quickly leading humanity to extinction…no matter how overwhelming the evidence for NTHE is.

It is obvious to me that manufacturing and merchandising is steadily declining in scale. Meaning the physical size of the economy is already starting to permanently shrink. Now, the elites are steadily increasing profits by increasing rent-seeking. It is extremely obvious that food and goods production is steadily declining in scale.
Now, more and more investments, revenues and profits are directed towards rent-seeking. This means that the quality of life (for the masses) is rapidly declining due to both decreased access to food and goods. And also due to increasing poverty, unemployment and debt slavery. Catabolic capitalism has already begun. In other words, capitalism is already starting to cannibalize the human population to maintain profit-margins.
NTHE is hardly a bad thing. The real BAD THING is that the elites will come up with ever-more exploitative and unfair methods of extracting profits from the masses. NTHE is actually the GOOD NEWS. The bad news is that catabolic capitalism can persist for a good number of years…meaning that whoever is alive right now will suffer an absolutely miserable life from starvation, poverty and debt slavery, etc. Even as global oil extraction, manufacturing, food production/distribution, etc continues to perpeutally shrink, collapse of industrial civilization (CoIC) and NTHE can still be delayed for many, many years…simply because the elites control the means of production and distribution, and the elites can delay collapse for many, many years by viscious demand destruction.
And the elites continue to pretend that NTHE won’t happen…even though it is guranateed to eventually happen. Simply put, the elites are suppressing the reality of NTHE, so that they can delay it for a few extra years. And up until NTHE does finally arrive, the elites will make soaring profit margins…even though nobody (including the elites) will survive when CoIC/NTHE does inevitably arrive.
