You walk where night forgets the name
Of every heart it ever claimed;
Your scent drifts feral ‘round my need,
Too pure to break, too proud to bleed.
I’ve watched you step through sleepless air,
Unknowing how I linger there;
Your presence hums—a whispered key—
It bends the dark and calls to me.
Your veins are rivers lit with heat,
Each throb a rhythm, slow and sweet;
You wear the aura of mortal trust,
And taste of hunger, fire, and lust.
If I should speak, the sound would glide,
Along your throat, and slip inside;
A murmur trembling ‘neath your skin,
Inviting what should not begin.
I’ve walked since cities rose from stone,
A thousand hearts became my own;
I’ve kissed till bliss grew cold and still—
And drained their want past dawn’s cold chill.
Your heartbeats trace my aching prayer,
They echo soft, though you’re not yet aware;
The world around you fades to red,
A promise whispered, half unsaid.
There’s comfort where the shadows lean,
More soft than light has ever been;
And in that dark, the sweetest part—
My spell remains, enthroned in your heart.
Behold—salvation in obsidian shroud,
A specter watching as daylight bowed;
I’ll take your breath and hush your cries
With rapture none can recognize.
So close your eyes, unlearn the sun,
The longest night has just begun;
I’ll love you where all light withdrew,
And leave my darkness inside of you.
